Big win for Majella at German Open

Majella Haverty has won the Women's Singles at the 2024 German Open held in Hamburg.  She defeated Carolina Luque of Mexico in the Women's Singles final by 3 games to 2. Having lost the first two games, she piled on the pressure in the next three to become only the 2nd Irish player to win an Open Singles at the German Open. Earlier Majella defeated Veronica Dotti of Bolivia in the semi-finasl and Renate Hartmann of Germany in the quarter-final.
